Just Another Week :)

i have been completely exhausted and worn out, and feeling quite a bit like a boring Mommy! i haven't had very many  things to do lately with my little Munchkin, so i have been trying to come up with ways for him to play that don't require much energy from me and keep him in one place. i remembered he had been given a bath coloring activity back when he was too young to even have any interest in it, so i pulled it out and we had a blast coloring! i did most of the coloring, but he liked helping me choose the colors and would mimic me!
he had a tootsie pop he was so excited to eat! i wouldn't let him eat it anywhere else cuz he was getting so sticky!
Connor can color too!!! but, only with his left hand. weird...
and occasionally he thought he should snack on the crayons...mommy says NO Connor!!!

Also this week i've been letting Connor have more freedom eating his own things! i cringe at the messes it makes, but i'm so proud of him for growing up!

Many of you know that Caleb and I are in the Nursery at church, and so we have Connor in with us each week. He isn't old enough for the younger Nursery until Nov, but he gets to play with the older kids while he's with us and participate in the activities! It has been so fun to see him playing and having fun each week! I think it will definitely make his transition easier when the time finally comes for him to go!

Connor and i rock in the rocking chair every night before bed for a few minutes, and this week he's started climbing up there and trying to rock all by himself! such a cutie!

That's all we have to share for now... :)

One Messy (But Fun) Week

Connor has been driving me a bit crazy this week with making messes and mischief, and being just plain naughty. but boy do i love him! i didn't take many pictures this week, but have just a few things to share :)

Connor had quite a good time playing on the beds while grandma and grandpa were here, and was thrilled to get the chance to help mommy remake them and get another chance to play on them!

We've not only had messes around the house this week, we've had an incredibly messy boy!!!! he's had multiple baths a day because he covers himself in food and things... the pictures that follow are him after he got into Daddy's Reese's cups! i was freaking out and worried he would have some kind of reaction to it, but thank goodness he didn't!
does he look proud of himself or what?!?!
he always drinks his bath water out of his toys even when i tell him no!!!
he loves turning the water off and on by himself
and he laughed pretty hard when he was sticking his finger up there trying to find the water!

Yesterday i convinced Caleb we needed to take Connor down to the pool to play because it had been quite a while since he got to swim with Dad, and he has so much more fun with him than with mom!

A Weekend With Grandpa and Grandma!

My parents came to see our Connor this last weekend! I also must mention that it was their 25th anniversary on the day they arrived!!! :) i love how obvious it is that after 25 years together, they are still just as in love as ever! they are such a wonderful example of a marriage that works! i feel so grateful to have them as my parents, and i hope they know just how much i love them! <3

We (Connor and i, Caleb had drill all day) picked them up at the airport on Saturday morning, and Connor was out like a rock! We decided that since the airport is right by the zoo we would go celebrate there and do something fun!

My mom has many more pictures on her camera, but im just posting the ones that that i have! It was super hot outside! We arrived about 10 and it was already nearly 100 outside!

We got sunscreen on everywhere first thing, and i think i was the only one who ended up with a sunburn! i was so careful to make sure Connor didn't that i forgot about myself!
Grandma let Connor wear her sunglasses and he thought it was a BLAST!
We went and checked out the Arizona section of the zoo first. i can't remember what the names of all the animals were, but Connor was pretty intrigued! he looked at alot of the first ones from the stroller, but decided Grandpa's arms were a better view!!! We made sure to drink plenty of water during our zoo adventure, and i had even packed a little lunch for us all. i had expected it to be hot, but i forgot how horribe it is in the darn arizona sun!!!

My dad had to spot alot of the animals for us at first!!!
He got SOOO excited by the animals and kept wanting grandpa to put him in with them! he was pointing and talking and my parents looked to be loving the time and attention with him!
Connor was very good about drinking water!!!
Connor really really REALLY liked these little prairie dogs!! he kept running back over to them trying to climb in and play with them!
telling grandpa to take him over to the prairie dogs again
and this was him trying to climb over the wall!!!!
I was so glad i captured this picture! he NEVER holds my hand! he warmed right up to them!!!
After the Arizona animals, we headed over to the Safari animals. i didn't take pictures of all of them though! We got some lunch in us, and after looked at some more animals we decided to go in search of the water play area i had heard was somewhere in the zoo!

The Yakulla Caverns were the highlight of Connor's time at the Zoo FOR SURE!!!!  we played there for quite a while! cooling off was just what Connor needed!

doesn't that smile just say "boy am i having fun!!!!???"

After a while of chasing him around i got worn out, so Grandpa got to take over! :)

When i finally declared it time to move on to another area, Connor was NOT pleased! he didn't even want to sit still for pictures! he wanted to play play play!!!

He was trying to climb back down to go back and play!
After we left the water part, we had a few animals we wanted to see before we left. First, the elephants! Connor loves Elephants! and then, the lions and tigers, and my mom wanted to see the Rhinoceros! It was after 1 at that point and we were exhausted from the heat, so we called it quits, but had soooo much fun while we were there!!!!

After we got home and rested i did a color and cut on my mom's hair, and cut my dad's. then Caleb came home and we all got cleaned up and went out to Olive Garden to celebrate my parent's anniversary! Connor loved eating the food and had a great time distracting other people around us and making them play!

On Sunday morning my mom and Connor played legos while i got ready for church and i thought it was so cute that i wanted to take some pictures! that wasn't a smart move though, because as soon as he saw me he freaked out and threw a fit!!!

after church i made a delicious dinner for us all, and we all went to bed at a decent time since Caleb would be dropping my parent's off at the airport in the early morning! We had such a wonderful time seeing them, and loved watching Connor with them! ever since they left he wants to play legos like he did with Grandma, and will kiss the phone when he talks to them, and likes watching the same movie he watched with Grandpa! he sure loves them!!!

SOO GLAD WE GOT TO HAVE THEM WITH US FOR A WEEKEND!!! :)
