Our New Home

so i finally took some pics of our new place to share, even though i still haven't taken the boxes out of the dinning room or put the pics up in the living room. please don't judge me too harshly lol.

 so there is our little tour! i realize its a bit confusing, so i'm including the floor plan. brilliant idea huh??? the only difference is that our washer and drying is in the larger panty instead of in the outside storage room, and there is no door separating the living room from the hallway as there appears to be. also the window in Connor's room is on the right wall not the rear. but no biggie :) and of course that is not how our furniture is arranged. that's just how the picture has it and i couldn't change it.

so i hope you enjoyed getting a little peek at our new home! we are enjoying the new space a TON! and Connor really is enjoying getting to play in his own room and have a ton more space to be able to explore! we are planning a trip to the pool this week. we will post pics after it!!!! :)

My big boy!

I've been trying to get a picture of this for weeks .... can't believe he can stand all by himself already! Have a feeling walking is only a short time away. Sooooo bittersweet! Will blog more about it when the internet works!

Valentine's Day

This was Connor's first Valentine's so we wanted to make sure to get him something super cute. and his west grandparents wanted to make sure they gave him something too! He got a book from mommy and daddy, and jammies and a stuffed animal from his grandparents! caleb got me roses and chocolate, which is exactly what i wanted. and i got him a giant chocolate kiss. yes it sounds boring, but thats what i always got him in highschool so its a bit of a tradition lol. connor also helped picked about flowers for mommy from grandpa and grandma! caleb had to go to school and work so we didn't do anything special this year, but i still took some pictures to document it!  and i realized connor didn't have any clean valentines day outfits... so he wore blue til i put his jammies on him lol. thats why he's not dressed in valentines colors like mom and dad. he was making me laugh when he wanted to help his daddy get ready for school and use the laptop! he's a smart boy, and loved his new book and stuffed frog!

we had a great valentine's and hope everyone else did too!!!!

A Break From Packing

we are going to be moving on saturday! we're technically already moved a bunch of boxes over to the new apartment but not any of the furniture. all of it will be done on saturday morning though! i've been packing packing packing all last week. it was very exhausting and so Caleb took me on a much needed date friday night. it was wonderful even though i missed Connor. but Caleb thought it was very relaxing. we went out to dinner at applebee's and laughed and laughed and reminisced over highschool days and old friends. it really was a good night out! i definitely needed it.

i don't have much to say about the last week since i didn't do anything very exciting besides packing.. but i did get a couple super cute pics of Connor during the week. i found these plastic glasses and my friend and i put them on Connor and it was so adorably cute i just had to take a pic to share! he's quite the little bookworm already!

My Photography Efforts

so I've been working a little bit on my new years resolution goals, and one thing i have put a bit of time into is photography. I've been trying to relearn the things i used to know, but i know i'm definitely not back up to as good as i was. its going to take my quite a while to be able to look at the pictures without picking out every flaw... but i decided my efforts were nothing to be ashamed of even though they are worse than some peoples amateur skills haha. and the photoshop i have is a different version than the one i learned on so i keep getting confused cuz i can't find the tools i'm used to and nothings working the same way. but, they're cute pictures of Connor, so i figured no one would mind seeing. cuz he's pretty darn cute even if i screw up the picture haha. just please remember to not judge me too harshly. i need alot more practice and learning. but heres a start :)

theres a ton of things wrong with each one, but i'm sure you can all agree a little glimpse of that cute face makes the other things less noticable! i'm hoping to continue to improve as time goes by, and i'll most likely be posting them all occasionally. the rest of my goals are going relatively good as well. i've been impressed with myself on keeping up with it all!

My Birthday

yesterday i turned 22! and as i said in my last post, i got a new look for my birthday! i took a picture to show everyone how it turned out. my hair was in desperate need of a makeover, and now i'm kinda a red-head! i'm enjoying it, and the color turned out well. i was worried it'd be too red, but its not!

also for my birthday Caleb got off work early on saturday and surprised me by wanting us to go out to dinner! we went to Olive Garden which is my favorite! and Connor had sooooo much fun sitting in the high chair and getting to eat bits of bread and things. i really really enjoyed it :) it was definitely a good birthday! i got tons of birthday wishes from people and lots of phone calls. i was feeling the love!

A Horrible Week With A Good Ending

this week felt like it would never end, and it seemed to be one thing going wrong after another! i caught a cold, then Connor caught it. and we even passed it to Caleb :(. Connor was miserable and had a 101 degree fever for four days, and when it finally broke he developed a horrible horribe HORRIBLE rash. he refused to eat, and after three days of having to coax even a few bites into him, i finally called his Doc and brought him in. turns out its once again, ANOTHER EAR INFECTION! ugh. now he's on another strong antibiotic, which of course gives him horrible diarrhea. we are not enjoying it...  and yesterday his rash was itching him so bad i called his doc and asked what i could do to help him, and she told me to give him bendryl. i feel like he's on all sorts of meds and i hate it. but it will all be worth it if we can just get our little guy feeling better!!!

yesterday lifted our spirits alot though when we filed our taxes and found out we should get alot more back than we were expecting :) i'm very excited about it because i'll be able to take Connor on a trip to Idaho next month, and if we're lucky Caleb might be able to come too! i've been feeling like theres plenty of good things to look forward too now. and also, tomorrow is my birthday. i wasn't thinking i'd get anything for it, and we're not doing anything special because its a Sunday and we have church, and then Caleb has work as usual. but i woke up this morning and decided that i was going to give myself a present and get a much needed haircut, and buy some color and give myself a makeover. my good friend Marne went with me and it was really fun. doesn't seem like running errands would be enjoyable, but it was for me. i dropped Caleb off at work so i had the car, and it was the first time in a really long time. it felt like freedom! lol the only downside to it was that the lady cut off twice as much hair as i'd asked for. oh well. i'm glad to say i've matured a bit over the years and it doesn't traumatize me like it would have before. its more of a small annoyance  now. if you ask for 2-3 inches, you should get it, not 6! but atleast i feel better now and it looks healthy. it feels tons better! and i'm very excited to do the color later. ill have to post pictures after its all done :). happy early birthday to me!!!!
