Daddy's Birthday

Caleb had his birthday on the 5th! We didn't have any big plans, and i didn't make a cake because Caleb isn't much of a sweets person. Instead he bought some birthday cake oreo's, which Connor devoured (Caleb had a few too). He said he just wanted a laid-back day, so i did my best to not do any birthday activities or anything like that. i felt like a slacker- wife! We spent the morning running some errands, and Connor was pretty cute playing which we were waiting. i didn't really want to run errands on his birthday, but he said it was his only day off, so that's what he wanted to get done. and you don't argue with the birthday boy! Then we went out to Apple bee's for dinner. Caleb had told me he wanted steak for dinner, so that's what he got! And Connor enjoyed helping him drink his lemonade. But he stubbornly wouldn't let me tell them it was his birthday, and he didn't even want dessert. The stinker!  It may sound horrible, but Caleb is very picky and hard to shop for, so when i pick presents, i usually have to make him pick it out or it will just be exchanged for something different. So we went shopping and he picked out some presents that he was wanting. It was a good day, and definitely nice to have him off of work for once!!!!

HAPPY 23rd CALEB! WE LOVE YOU!!!

September!

Connor has been enjoying watching movies with Mommy, because he's got more molars coming in! he just got one in on the bottom right side, and is now working on the bottom left side. mommy has been spoiling him a bit! he keeps getting to take his naps with mommy while we watch a movie.

 My Munchkin is a little explorer! He throws balls under his bed, just so that he can go underneath to play. I don't go underneath with him, because i do NOT do small spaces, but i guess claustrophobia isn't a problem for him!

We have some pool toys hanging around since we live in such a warm place, and Connor isn't quite big enough for some of them. but it doesn't stop him from playing with them in the house!

Every night before bed Connor gets to rock with whoever put him to bed, and then he goes in his crib. I guess he likes rocking, because he will climb up there and rock all by himself!

As usual, i have some pretty cute vidoes of Connor dancing. he keeps making up new moves, and making me remember that he is adorable! we just love him!

Connor is still getting time-outs in his playpin when he is naughty. this particular day, he ciompletely zonked out while he was  in there. he must have been exhausted, because he was drooling everywhere. that wouldn't be the most comfortable way to sleep in my opinion, but he was out like a rock!

 And this is just a picture showing the messes i clean every day.. it only takes about 10 minutes or less for this mess to occur. We clean it daily! i must be super mommy or something... haha!

Connor knows he is not supposed to play with Daddy's laptop...but sometimes he thinks he can get away with it since he is so darn cute! don't you see that sneaky smile on his face when he thinks i'm not going to tell him not to do that?

 I'm sure Deanna is thinking "Yes, that is my son." Anyone who knows my husband, knows you never get a smile in a spontaneous picture from him. he's a stinker! but i love him. :) And Connor does to, even though he seems to be grimacing there haha.

Connor has had a mean streak of accidents lately. He's covered in bumps, bruises, and scratches. He just likes to get into everything, and do it all by himself, and won't slow down about anything! Caleb thought he's colored on his face haha. i had to explain to him that its a big scratch, not coloring!

I was very proud of myself for capturing a picture of him sitting in this pot... he loves to bring the pots and pans to the living room. and like i mentioned in the previous post, he must sit in it if he can. and he can sit in this one! isn't he silly?

The Ending of Our August

i hate to admit how much of a slacker i've been with blogging... but it's a bit hard to hide. but i've been having an unusally productive day, so i'm getting all caught up! i'll be breaking it all down into small posts instead of one very very large post, so you'll have to take a look at the others too. 

Connor has been cracking me up lately.. if there is anything on the floor that he can fit inside, he WILL sit in it! he wasn't thrilled with me telling Caleb to grab the camera and take pictures of him inside this bucket, and to punish us for that, he refused to sit in it again. he would only climb out of it and glare at us. but i couldn't deny how cute he is, even if he is one stubborn child! 

Connor has been learning quite a few new words, and one of them is "baby". he loves to look through his baby book and point to the pictures and say "ba-bay". and sometimes he even calls other people baby haha. when we're lucky, we can get a "grandma" out of him, or a "mamma" or "dadda". he loves his books, and he loves seeing pictures of himself as a baby!

I have been dealing with ginormous messes lately, and it is partly due to the fact that he realized he is big enough to reach all the kitchen drawers, and can get out silverware and all other kitchen utensils all by himself! he also empties the dishwasher, which mommy doesn't particularly enjoy since everything ends up on the floor and dirty, and can get in the pantry all by himself too. this particular day i thought he was being so funny because he had gotten all the old walmart bags that i really should recycle, and scattered them around, then was swatting them with the potato masher! it was like alittle game to him! such a smartie pants!

Just Another Week :)

i have been completely exhausted and worn out, and feeling quite a bit like a boring Mommy! i haven't had very many  things to do lately with my little Munchkin, so i have been trying to come up with ways for him to play that don't require much energy from me and keep him in one place. i remembered he had been given a bath coloring activity back when he was too young to even have any interest in it, so i pulled it out and we had a blast coloring! i did most of the coloring, but he liked helping me choose the colors and would mimic me!

he had a tootsie pop he was so excited to eat! i wouldn't let him eat it anywhere else cuz he was getting so sticky!

Connor can color too!!! but, only with his left hand. weird...

and occasionally he thought he should snack on the crayons...mommy says NO Connor!!!

 Also this week i've been letting Connor have more freedom eating his own things! i cringe at the messes it makes, but i'm so proud of him for growing up!

Many of you know that Caleb and I are in the Nursery at church, and so we have Connor in with us each week. He isn't old enough for the younger Nursery until Nov, but he gets to play with the older kids while he's with us and participate in the activities! It has been so fun to see him playing and having fun each week! I think it will definitely make his transition easier when the time finally comes for him to go!

Connor and i rock in the rocking chair every night before bed for a few minutes, and this week he's started climbing up there and trying to rock all by himself! such a cutie!

One Messy (But Fun) Week

 Connor has been driving me a bit crazy this week with making messes and mischief, and being just plain naughty. but boy do i love him! i didn't take many pictures this week, but have just a few things to share :) 

Connor had quite a good time playing on the beds while grandma and grandpa were here, and was thrilled to get the chance to help mommy remake them and get another chance to play on them! 

 We've not only had messes around the house this week, we've had an incredibly messy boy!!!! he's had multiple baths a day because he covers himself in food and things... the pictures that follow are him after he got into Daddy's Reese's cups! i was freaking out and worried he would have some kind of reaction to it, but thank goodness he didn't!

 Yesterday i convinced Caleb we needed to take Connor down to the pool to play because it had been quite a while since he got to swim with Dad, and he has so much more fun with him than with mom!
