Getting Up To Speed

i feel like i have gotten very behind on my blogging and it is about time i caught up! Connor and i have started trying to get out of the house more lately and we go to the park, the library, and the pool each week. Over Conference weekend i have a huge guilt trip over the fact that i felt like i needed to get my priorities straight and try to focus on the things that are most important in life and not waste so much time. so because of that, it seems each day is full with different activities. i don't have much spare time, but i feel its better that way. Connor seems to really be enjoying the outings out of the house despite the heat of Arizona. Its already been in the 90's multiple times and its very different from Idaho weather, and its weirding me out again like it has since we moved. And I've been doing short workouts every day (well it isn't much of a work out...its more like a short 20 minute exercise) and it has been helping me to have more energy everyday. we are definently having fun and keeping busy! i know a picture says a thousands words, so instead of boring you all with details of every fun thing we have done lately, i'll just show you in a bit. :)

We are also in the process of trying to figure out what kind of formula Connor will take, and i have to admit, its not going so well. He threw up after taking regular formula for sensitive stomachs, and he stubbornly refuses soy formula. we are kind of at a loss as of what to do. and Connor was never willing to take a bottle, so i worry he doesn't drink enough every day to give him the nutrients he needs. But i know it is time to wean him, and he doesn't like that idea so much. Although i have been very impressed that he has given up nursing himself to sleep. The last week i've been trying to teach him to go to sleep on his own. The first few tries were HORRIBLE with nearly an hour of screaming and tons of having to go in and calm him down, and all he wanted was to nurse and would cry and cry for it. But tonight he went straight to sleep on the first try, and didn't even cry! i was so proud of my little boy! i hope he keeps it up!!! i think the whole weaning process will be much easier when he doesn't rely on it to fall asleep! we are just crossing our fingers we will find the right thing for him that won't make him sick or have to literally be forced down him.

This last week Connor has also started walking full-time. He rarely crawls now, and has started to run. And his climbing skills have improved immensely. he can climb onto the couch and also into the tub all by himself. and he loves to climb on the box we have in front out the computer to block the power button from him. i feel like he has grown so much in just a week! he loves to put things into buckets and dump them out. He LOVES to throw things and show off how strong he is. and he has also recently discovered how to take the caps off of bottles and things. just this morning he dumped an entire bottle of hand sanitizer all over the floor while my back was turned! and boy was he proud of himself! Connor has such a little attitude and loves to be naughty and watch for the reaction. Lately when he is being naughty he smiles and scrunches his nose up and squeezes his eyes closed with a big cheesy smile. it ends up being so cute i can't even growl at him. He has started an independent phase where he doesn't want to do anything i tell him to, or eat anything i am holding for him, and he will NOT drink anything if i hand it to him or touch it. He wants to do it all by himself, and gives me a look that says "i'm a big boy mom, leave me alone, i can do it!" wonder where he got that attitude???? lol. but we sure love him.
