Reminiscings...

it feels so weird to know that the last year has gone by sooooo fast! it was one year ago that i welcomed our little Connor into the world, without Caleb by my side. i can honestly say, that was very, very hard. but, it was worth it. getting to finally hold him made it all worth it for me. today i am soooo glad that Caleb is here to celebrate this special day with me! i love watching the bond that Caleb and Connor have as father and son, and i love that they love to be together! when i got to hold Connor for the first time i could hardly believe it was real! he was so tiny and quiet and perfect! it was a day i will never forget. i read back over my blog entry from the experience and for anyone else who wants to read it, the link is here. it was quite an exhausting day, and there were times when he was small that i felt over whelmed and inadequate, but none of that changes the fact that our little boy was, and still is, just what i needed. he helps me to be better each and every day! i am so glad that Connor is a part of our family! i know we got lucky to have such a sweet little boy. ever since he was teeny weeny, he has had such a good nature.  his adorable laugh lights up a room, and even perfect strangers are enchanted by his sweet smile. we feel so lucky to be his parents!!! we have so many hopes and dreams for our little boy, and we are enjoying every second of watching him grow and learn. it's hard to believe he is a year old already! we have fun plans to celebrate today, and i will be posting about it at a later time! Happy Birthday Connor Scott! Mommy and Daddy love you!!!!

Mother's Day

 Happy First (Real) Mother's Day to me!!!! last year i considered myself a mother, since i was about ready to pop! but this year was the first time i got to celebrate it with my little boy and my hubby! on Saturday Caleb and Connor snuck out to the store and bought my chocolate and flowers and surprised me with them! i had thought they just went out to the mailbox, but i was wrong. it was soooo sweet! i also got sweet cards from family in Idaho, and a cute book called "why i son needs a mother" from Caleb's mom. i had a great morning and was feeling very loved, but then for some reason, i decided i needed to give myself my own mother's day gift. and what was that gift??? oh, just a concussion. smart move, huh? NOT!

As we were getting into the car to head to church, i clumsily slammed my head into the door frame of the car, and was in quite a bit of pain. i had a nice goose egg all through church, and developed a bad headache, and was feeling dizzy and weak, and to be honest, a bit nauseous! :( i ended up leaving church early, since Connor has been teething horribly and was unhappy, and with the misery i was already feeling, i just couldn't bring myself to stay the rest of it. The goose egg ended up going down, and a bruise developed instead. i went to bed feeling a bit better, but didn't sleep well at all. Connor woke me up very early the next day, and things all went downhill as the morning progressed. After looking up concussion symptoms, i came to the conclusion that i was pretty darn sure i had one, and as long as i didn't do much and just relaxed i didn't feel quite so miserable! Today has been the same, and i'm just hoping it gets better soon! and also i'm hoping that no one i run into thinks my poor hubby punched me!!! that would make me so sad, cuz it really is my own stinking clumsiness that gets me in these situations! even though i'm not enjoying this at all, it does make a funny story. hopefully next year i don't try and repeat it!!!!

Another Week of Smiles

This week we have been having lots more fun! Connor has been practicing his throwing skills and his favorite thing is to throw balls with Daddy! Mommy found a super fun ball that lights up, and Connor has already learned that if you throw it on the tile, its way more fun than on the carpet!!!

Connor ate spaghetti and made the biggest mess...but it was too cute to go without documenting. Who likes spaghetti???? Connor says "I"!!!!!

Connor has also discovered the fun parts of helping mommy with chores... that swiffer mop is pretty fun!!!!

Once again, Connor is throwing balls! he would throw it to daddy, and daddy would throw it far, and Connor would go get it... the funniest part was that one time Caleb threw it, it hit Connor smack in the middle of the forehead and bounced off and Connor busted out laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world... our cute little boy!

Connor did the cutest thing just the other day, which i'd never seen him do before. but it proves he is definitely my child! haha! a child after my own heart thats for sure! take a peek at his cute new skill!

we have had a bit of a stressful week, but we are sure everything will get better soon. we are looking forward to celebrating connor's first birthday this thursday! i will be taking plenty of pics and posting about it afterwards, so keep your eyes out for it!

Dining Out

This weekend Caleb and i got to go to his first military ball, which they call "dining out". i was very excited to go since Caleb was sponsored to go by his company commander because his uniform was in one of the best conditions of the entire unit. I was introduced to him, and he told me i should be proud of Caleb because they're unit is one of the largest around here, and Caleb was in the top two of the entire unit. i thought that was pretty cool to hear straight from his commander's mouth! and i was also pretty excited to get all dressed up and go out on a date with my hubby, since it feels like its been forever since we've done that! we took a few pictures beforehand, and since i'd promised to share pics with several people, i decided this was the easiest way. we had a very good time, the only downside was that we didn't get to sit at a table with anyone we knew, and it lasted much longer than we'd expected.  by 10:15 when the end of the dinner and speech came, we weren't even feeling up for dancing, and decided to better go get our son from the babysitter!

my makeup

me and my little cutie

my hair...didn't do what i'd originally planned cuz connor was trying to be hepful.
me and my date...love him! <3

we had a picture taken while we were there but i don't have it yet. will have to post it when i get it. :) we had a great time! seemed kinda like a grown up prom! great memories!!!

Oh Just Making Trouble...

Once again, Connor has been wreaking havoc on our house. but we are thoroughly enjoying it. and it has been WONDERFUL to have Caleb home in the mornings to spend time with us! we are loving every bit of it!  Here are just a few of the fun things we've done this week!

Connor decided that the cabinet with all the games was the perfect club house for himself...

What kind of fun things can we find in here???? Perfect size for me!

uh oh....i think i heard mom...where is she? she's not gonna be happy!

oh no! i've been spotted!

hey get that camera out of my face! give me that!

i'm gonna get you mom!!!! run!

ok ok you got me... i'm still cute
 Connor thinks that the perfect time to run away from mom is during diaper changes...he will squish himself behind here, then crawl through when he thinks i'm not looking. but i caught him red handed, with picture to prove it! he seems to think diapers are just for taking off and having mom chase you down with.

oh no! the paparazzi caught me! try to look innocent! no mom, i'm not going to pee on the carpet!
 Connor has decided that he deserves to feed himself at all times... both juice, and forks are not to be touched by mom, only Connor...

look i can multitask mom!
 Then he got sooo tired, that it was nap time. when i went to check on him, i had to take a picture cuz it was soo darn cute with that hiney up in the air...

yes, this IS the most comfy way to sleep mom!

guess i just been playing way too hard mommy..i'm exhausted!
 I got to babysit two cute girls for a couple hours one day this week for my friend, and we had a blast playing princesses. and dressing up. it's a girl thing! can you rock a tiara like that? i should have took a picture of me in mine...but it definitely wasn't as cute as this!

 It was drill weekend once again, and Connor decided dad's stuff was his personal playground, and it belonged to no one but him. yeah, he knows he's cute. can't you tell??? and that bowl makes the best seat in the house apparently! who knew!

And last but not least.... we've been practicing some throwing skills! and running ones...he really likes to run. wonder where that might have come from???? haha.

Our Fun Activities

 This week has been very stressful because it was the last week of the semester for Caleb. He has been working is usual amount and staying incredibly busy, as well as juggling the added homework and finals. we are relieved its over! Caleb has decided to take off the summer semester to be able to work and re-coop a bit, and we are looking forward to more time together as a family! Connor and i are just being at home and doing the usual routines.In all truthfulness, it feels like we do the exact same thing EVERY SINGLE DAY here! you'd think it would get boring, but I've realized that everyday brings some great memory that i like to laugh about later and tell Caleb all about. I've decided that the best way to share those moments is by a picture, and a brief explanation. That way i'm not boring you all with an incredibly long entry! So here goes...

The last time Caleb had drill he came home to a little boy who was running a fever. Connor just wanted to snuggle with his daddy and watch him play his DS...it was such a cute little moment i couldn't help but want to share the picture!  ----->

My darling little boy is full of mischief lately... one of his favorite past times is moving the chairs across the house. he will pull and push them EVERYWHERE! and it incredibly proud  of his strength!                                                       <------

Connor is pretty good at being cute.. we love to blow bubbles and pop them. he will carry the little container of bubbles all around the house. well, that is, until he learned how to open it and dump it out everywhere!                                     ------->

Connor loves to play with his toys. This week i got out all his stuffed animals and he was soooo excited to see his teddy bear his daddy gave him! he gave it hugs and kisses. He also learned how to throw toys across the room and run and get it, then repeat.                          <---------->
We finally got Connor a new car seat! He was WAAAAAY to big for his original one. The pic on the right shows that.. he had to curl his legs up to fit. So we got him a new one, and he was majorly proud of it. see that look that says "mommy, i'm a big boy now!"
<--------->

Another bit of mischief is seen here... Connor has decided the most appropriate way to eat dinner is with your feet on the table.... i think NOT!
 <-------------

Now that Caleb has learned to take lids off of things, my makeup has had to be moved to where he cannot reach. He seems to think mascara is a lollipop. look at that cute little face!

-------->

Connor thinks its fun to roll all around and look at mom upside down. its like he's a little rollie-pollie ollie!
<----------------

As soon as he gets himself rolled around a million times he flips over and starts kicking his feet and laughing his head off each time. he was so funny and cute to watch that i took pictures.
---------->

And last,but not least, Connor loves to dance to music. And it is ridiculously cute. i got a video of it. He kept getting so excited he would loose his balance and fall over. He especially likes dancing to the theme songs of TV shows. haha. ENJOY!

Proof Of The Tooth

As promised, i am posting pics of Connor's cute little tooth. he finally decided to let me get some pictures without completely flipping out that i was paying attention to the tooth. It's pretty cute, and hopefully we'll see some more soon!
