A Very Late Update

i meant to update days ago..but for one reason or another, it just didn't happen. but i just got an extremely sad boy down for his nap, and Caleb is sleeping still, so i have a bit of spare time. we don 't have anything very exciting going on, but Connor has learned a few cute new things! he can jump, climb onto the couches and bed all by himself, walk on his tippy-toes, and turn on the dishwasher. he also carries blankies around everywhere lol. he is very proud of his new skills and practices them every chance he can get! when he's not perfecting his new skills, he's being naughty and pulling hair or biting. we are working on helping him understand that it is not ok to be mean! i don't believe in biting back to teach him it hurts, and i'm not a spanker, so we've been doing a little time out. i really don't think he can understand the point of timeout, but its more to show him if he can't be nice to someone, he doesn't get to play with them. i just put him in his little play pin and he will usually scream, but he calms down with i give him toys. we want to teach Connor to be kind to everyone, and hopefully with time he will learn, or we will discover a better method.

Connor and i have done all sorts of playing lately, and i've managed to grab a few cute pics and videos to share:
Connor LOVES to read books!
Connor knows how to unscrew caps off of bottles, and he will carry them all over the house and just do it over and over and over again.
Connor loves to help mommy do laundry...his favorite part is getting rides in the laundry basket!
He climbs up here, then acts like he can't get down and yells for help til i go over to him, then he proudly climbs down and shows off his skills haha
Connor gets to snack on treats while he watches Mommy cook dinner every day.
This is just a bit of Connor's favorite mess to make.... we clean this up thousands of times a day!
We went swimming at La Casita again!
Connor has decided watching movies with mom is the best! and the best place to watch them is apparently right in front  of the tv!!!! i'm not a fan of that idea so much, sorry little man!

I was sooooo bored while Caleb was gone that i decided to get all dressed up and go to a Relief Society activity.

Caleb came home from AT over a week ago, and Connor has been quite attached to him since then! He missed him soooo much! One day he was gone i took some pictures of him and said "Come smile for daddy!" and he must have thought i meant daddy was doing a video chat on the phone because he came running over all excited like this...

only to find it was the camera, not his daddy... and boy was he sad... it broke my poor little heart  to see him like this...

But everything was better when he finally got home! The day we got him Connor was sooo excited and barely took his eyes off of him. i got some incredibly cute pictures of my boys together! Connor wanted to sit and watch Daddy take his shoes off and was sooo excited. and then Daddy helped Connor take his shoes off because Connor didn't want Mommy to hold him at all, he wanted DADDY!!!! For some reason, i just think its precious to see how excited Connor was to have his daddy home after two weeks!

After Caleb got all showered and unpacked he spent some time hanging out with us :)
connor wanted to help his daddy unpack, and i just love seeing them together!
Connor brought a book over to Caleb and climbed right up on the couch and snuggled up with him... so Caleb read it to him :)
Caleb is back to working, working, working. We are trying to make some big decisions right now about jobs and other important things. we also just got moved from our CTR 10 class to the older nursery, and are looking forward to that new change that begins on Sunday for us. i think it will be a bit easier on me since i won't have to feel like I'm juggling Connor and class, instead Connor will fit in with the class a bit easier and i don't have to worry about him distracting everyone! He sure is a cute kid. Caleb's work hours have been a little different than usual this week so he's had some spare time to spend with us, and Connor is taking full advantage of it! :) We sure love our family time together!

His Usual Naughtiness... and Then Some

This week last week of so has been full of mischeif once again... i think i have done more cleaning recently than i have in MONTHS! There are several reasons for that, and i managed to capture several of them. Reason # 1 for that.... this little cutie decided to unroll the entire box of trash bags.. and it was brand new! He thought throwing them away was the perfect thing to do. well, atleast he knows trash bags belong in trash cans!

Reason #2.. he discovered the basket of music i keep behind our keyboard, and he decided it was his little nest. he climbed inside it and then he nearly destroyed one of the books, and threw the rest all over the house! he REFUSED to get out, and threw a royal tantrum when i picked him up.

Reason #3.He has decided that he is an expert climber... the also pushed his diaper bag off the trunk we keep in on and threw the entire contents around, then climbed himself up here and excitedly banged til he was sure i heard him. he was pretty proud of himself til he realized Mommy saw the mess... then he looked just a tiny bit nervous. oh isn't he cute?!?!?!

He has done way too many things to take pictures of every single thing, but i have just a few more! He has been taking things apart... the tv stand, and his little dresser. he pulls the shelves and drawers off and takes the clothes to the living room, and scatters dvds all over the house!

Now for just some pure cuteness... Daddy left for Annual Training this weekend, but before he left he spent some quality time playing gameboy with Connor. I thought it was adorable, and obviously Connor thought it was a blast, because this morning he was trying to play himself with an older gameboy!!!

Another cute moment this week, the other day Connor got a piece of paper stuck on his head and didn't know...it was there about 20 minutes and it was soo funny! he sure is one cute kid!!!

But we haven't only been cleaning, we've also had quite a bit of fun! We got to go to the La Casita pool with Marne's family, and Connor had a blast! We have been a couple times now, and each time gets more fun! Connor seems to really enjoy the spash pad now that he has gotten used to it!

Connor has also become attached to some odd things in the recent week... straws, and tooth brushes! we thought it was soooo funny at first, but then we realized he had taught himself how to drink out of a straw, and that he was trying to brush his own teeth! because of that, we are getting him his own toothbrush, and just recently bought him new sippy cups that have straws!

After we swim, i always put our swimming suits and towels out to dry on our porch. usually Connor will go out with me, then come right back in. But this week he decided the porch was THE COOLEST place, and wouldn't come inside! when i tried to pick him up he would run from me. he kept running over to the screen door and looking in and pounding on it and squealing and laughing... it was pretty cute, even though i was slighly annoyed at his persistence lol.
After i realized how excited he was about being out there, i decided maybe we should play out there in the early afternoon when its shady out there and we haven't got the heat quite so much. So, this morning we gave it a shot. and boy did he have fun! we took some toys out there and he played on the water table we got from Marne. I'm thinking we will have to do this more often!

We had a couple other interesting things happen this week. We got a new loveseat! our neighbor's were moving out and asked us if we wanted it. i was thrilled to have more than one peice of furniture for people to sit on now! its the same color as our recliner loveseat, and only in need of a little cleaning. it is in wonderful shape, so we were sooo excited! i rearranged the living room to make room for it :)

Also i took Connor to the allergist to be tested to see if he has milk allergy. We did a skin test first, but they said it wasn't severe enough and would need to do a blood test. That turned out to be a disaster...but after we took him a second time to try they were able to get it. i felt so bad torturing my little man!!! The skin test was only 20 minutes and i took a picture of it. It was really bad 10 minutes after, but then lessened down to what the picture looks like at the 20 minute mark. poor kid! we go back in two weeks for the results!

I have taken lots of videos lately, so hopefully i'm not overloading anyone! He's just such a cute kid who could resist capturing his cuteness???

It's been a fun week. We are hopefully that two weeks without Daddy will go by fast! We are both going through withdrawals already lol Connor keeps wandering saying his name over and over again and crying and not wanting me. Everyone cross your fingers for us that its not miserable until he's home!
