Another Fun Week With My Munchkin :)

This week has been quite a good one! Connor has found an independent streak, and he is learning how to do different things soooo quickly! it's so bittersweet to see how quickly he's growing up! I have quite a few videos this week to share :)

The beginning of the week i was laughing my head off because Connor made a HUGE mess and was opening everything he could find, and he opened a packed of those stickly labels you can print on, and he got a piece of it stuck on his forehead and had no clue! it was sooooooo funny! i had to grab i picture of it to share!
he was sucking on chapstick that he ruined...the crazy kid!

I mentioned before how Connor wants to do everything all on his own, and feeding himself is one of those things! if i even touched the spoon, he wouldn't eat it. i was surprised at how well he did! he was soooo proud of himself, and mommy was proud of him too!

This is another thing that had me laughing my head off... he has a little ball that needs some air in it, so it is only partially full, and he was putting it in his mouth and running around with it as he held it by his teeth! the things this kid does.... haha! i even got a video of it. :)

I have been trying to encourage Connor to only take naps in his crib, but one of the days this week he cried and cried and cried at naptime, and it was obvious he was soooo tired, so i let him take a nap on my lap. it has been such a long time since he was willing to snuggle!

Connor thinks that anything he finds in the kitchen is a toy just for him... even the rolling pin! he carries it around everywhere, and freaks out when i take it. the poor little guy smashed his toe with it though, and now has a nasty bruise! :( i took it away after that! i don't like things being mean to my baby!

i know that i have shown videos of his cute dancing before, but i just had to do it again because he has started to really get into the beats of the music and move, and i can't help but laugh at the cuteness!!! sorry the video gets out of sync!!! there are still a few cute moments to see :)

Connor is very attached to his Daddy, and gets very sad when he's home and he can't sit with him or play games or talk to him. It's kinda cute how much he loves his Daddy! must mean Caleb is doing something right :) He wanted to go in the bedroom with Daddy soooo bad!

My friend Nicole has a puppy, and Connor has never been around one before this. i thought he would be afraid, but truthfully i've never been seen him so excited before! he was THRILLED and didn't care if it jumped on him or anything else!

This weekend we had some serious rain! i kept getting flashflood warnings on my phone all during the day on saturday. Connor and i were at my friend Nicole's house and when we walked home the puddles were ankle deep in places along all the sidewalks!! Connor thought it was the COOLEST thing ever!
We have a little table out on our porch that filled up with water from the rain! Connor really liked splashing in it!

On Sunday my poor little guy wasn't feeling so well. Too much splashing in the rain maybe??? He was running a low fever, and had a sneezy, snotty nose, and was so clingy and sad and sleepy! my friend had a flu bug earlier in the week, so to be on the safe side i kept him home from church so we wouldn't pass anything around! since i'm in the nursery i try to be careful with that, because i don't know many parents that are happy to have their little kids sick! He napped off and on all day...he's such a cutie when he sleeps!
I had a good laugh on Sunday after i took Connor's temperature because he decided he needed to hold onto that thing the rest of the day! he wanted to check his own temperature like he saw mommy do! well, not exactly like i did haha

This little boy in this picture was soooo excited to discover he can climb on chairs all by himself. up until yesterday he had only got on the couches and boxes alone. he made sure i took a good long look at him standing up on it, and showed me several times! what a talented boy! :)

We had a super fun week, and can't wait to see all the crazy things Connor will do next week! :) Hope everyone enjoyed all we shared!

Big Plans!

My last couple posts have been full of pictures and cute stories of Connor, but haven't said much about what has been going on with Caleb and I, and it might have been obvious that i have been extremely stressed out. theres no easy way to explain exactly what was stressing me out other than to just say i had no clue where life was headed! i'm not the kind of person that can go through life everyday changing my plans or even NOT having plans for my life. i need plans, and backup plans, and at least some idea of where we hope to be in the next year that i can feel good about. the problem was that we had our same plans we made a long time ago, but i no longer felt confidant in them. there was no reason for feeling the way i did, other than that i think it was Heavenly Father's way of trying to tell me we would be much better off doing something different. As i was praying and seeking some sort of an answer as to why i felt like i did, and how i could figure out what it was we need to be doing, the thought kept occuring to me that we should move back to Idaho. i didn't think there was much possibility in it since we are tied down here with Caleb's school and the National Guard, but i still suggested it to Caleb, and was quite disappointed when he didn't seem to want to discuss it. As more weeks went by i became more and more stressed and unhappy, especially about living here in Arizona. but was trying very hard to find a different answer as to what i could do to stop feeling the way i was, and make sure we had our life figured out, but nothing seemed to make a difference. I  was just deciding that i just had to deal with it and quit having a pity party, when out of the blue, Caleb asks my opinion of moving to Idaho next year! i literally thought he was joking since he knew how bad i wanted to move back home, but he wasn't! he had a whole list of reasons why it would benefit us to move back, and had put some serious thought into it all. he said that he hadn't wanted to discuss it before because he had needed to figure out what he thought about it all and work it through in his head before stressing me out about it. he knows how much i can't stand when people talk to me about things and then change their mind a million times. boy do i love him! he knows me so well! :)

So now we are slowly, but surely, making plans to move back to Idaho next year! our lease on these apartments doesn't get up until next February, so it won't be until at least February, but probably not too long after that. we are trying to get an idea of our plans and how to make it all work before setting anything in stone. moving is expensive, and stressful, but we both feel like Idaho is where we need to be. We are trying to figure out schooling options, and how to work out the national guard things right now before we worry about making any other plans, but it is definitely a work in progress! soooooo excited!!! :)

Proud To Be An American!

i LOVE the 4th of July! Growing up we always had big family get-togethers, and my family is very patriotic. because of that, the 4th of july has a special place in my heart. i'm so grateful to live in this country with its freedoms! since we moved here i have a rough day on the 4th and miss seeing my family very very much. it was fun to celebrate with Connor this year now that he is old enough to participate in things...

This year was a bit odd to me, since it RAINED on the 4th of July! i don't know if i have any memories of that ever happening to before. but, we do live in Arizona, and that is very different from my Idaho! It was still beautiful weather outside, even though it was quite a bit humid. I took Connor on a little walk through the apartments and he thought splashing in puddles was AMAZINGLY fun! that IS what little boys do best!!!!

We had thought that Caleb would have to work, but he didn't so we decided to go to the store and buy sparklers and pop-its and Connor had soooo much fun!!!!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July like we did!!! love you all!

Beginning July

As i mentioned in the previous post, i had a bit of a crummy week. i was grouchy, stressed, and just plain over-emotional. my poor family and house had to put up with it! because of that, i didn't get much cleaning done, and Connor got to do lots of playing hard! i was  bit of a slacker on picture taking, but there was one extremely cute instance that happened that i HAD to share!

Connor usually loves to drink from his sippy cup with the straw, but he decided that his mommy's cup was better, and that he could do it all by himself. he was handling it extremely well so i let him, but them he dumped it all down his front! thank goodness it was only water!
When i cleaned him up i told him to go get his jammies for me, and i laughed when he instead brought me one of his daddy's shirts! it was sooo cute that i decided, what the heck, he can wear it to bed! and he was sooooo excited about it! and wear it to bed he did!

Also this week i decided my hair needed a makeover. it has been soooo hot that i never ever wear it down, and Connor pulls on it and it makes me even more grouchy, so i decided it was time to cut it off. i was half tempted to do shorter, but i knew i still would want to be able to put it up to keep it out of connor's hands, but i wanted enough of a difference that it felt new. i thought it looked cute the last time it was this length, so i gave it another try. so far, i'm reallly enjoying it! i plan to grow it out again, because long hair is just ME. but i'm very happy to say i'm no longer the type of girl that freaks out about cutting her hair! and my sweet hubby didn't even whine when i said i wanted to cut off quite a bit, even though i know he looooves it long. i cut off about 7 inches! and then i colored it, as you can see. i did highlights at first, but i didn't use my head and so it didn't turn out like i wanted, so i just colored over it all, and i have to say i like the results! Caleb thinks i make a pretty cute redhead, and i think i pull it off pretty well!

Now when i take Connor places people can tell me how he looks like he has red hair! that used to happen all the time and they would say it was obvious it came from me. when my hair is red, his looks like it is too. :)
